Certification Board

ESA's certification programs are managed by the Certification Board, a group of elected individuals who are all Board Certified Entomologists.

The Certification Board oversees the certification program, sets certification standards, and promotes the recognition of Board Certified Entomologists (BCEs). The Certification Board consists of a Director, Past Director, Director-Elect, and a Representative from each Branch of the Entomological Society of America, all of whom are elected by BCEs. In 2014, the Bylaws were revised and an ACE Representative position was added to the Board. Each year the Director-Elect moves to the Director's position, and the Director moves to the Past Director position.

The Certification Board also supervises a number of committees which perform many of the administrative functions of the program

The Board generally meets quarterly. For 2015, the meeting schedule is:

  • February 17 (conference call)
  • May 12 (conference call)
  • August 18 (conference call)
  • November 15 (Annual meeting)
