ACE Award Launched

Entomological Society of America Launches New ACE  Professional Award
(Annapolis, MD) May 27, 2014  - The Entomological Society of America (ESA) recently announced the introduction of a new award designed to recognize high-achieving pest management professionals who have earned their Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) certification.
The ACE Professional Award is designed to honor a pest management professional who has held the ACE certification for at least three consecutive years and has exemplified the professionalism that is spelled out in the ACE Code of Ethics through actions and deeds.
The award will include free registration to NPMA's PestWorld, where it will also be presented to the recipient, along with an inscribed plaque.
"Our intention was to design an award that is high profile and given only to high achievers," said Chris Stelzig, ESA's Director of Certification. "The ACE credential already sets the individual apart. This award is a way to recognize the best of the best – those who walk the walk and talk the talk of a true pest management professional."
Applications must be submitted online and should be received no later than COB July 1. Applications will be reviewed based on a number of qualifications, including:
•  Participation in national, state, or regional pest management associations or groups
•  Attendance at pest management meeting
•  Pest management related community service or activism
•  Composition of an essay on how the applicant has created a better world while also personally benefitting from his or her ACE certification.
More information on this award and all other ESA Certification awards can be found online at the ESA's Awards Site.
The ACE-Pest Control certification program was started by the ESA in 2004 and has grown on average more than 35% annually since that time with more than 760 ACEs as of the end of 2013.
