This award honors a student transition or early professional working within the field of entomology who has demonstrated excellence in all the major aspects of intellectual life, including research, extension, teaching, and outreach. The candidate will have made outstanding contributions to entomology, shown commitment to extension, excelled in entomological education, and exhibited creativity and leadership in outreach. The recipient will receive complimentary registration to the SEB-ESA Annual Meeting, a $500 check, and an award plaque.  

Dr. Ernest S. ("Del") Delfosse is a 42-year ESA member. He is an international authority on biological control and IPM. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Florida, an M.Sc. from South Dakota State University, and a B.Sc. from the University of Louisville.

Recipients of this award are nominated for the ESA Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching. The award will be presented at the ESA-SEB Annual Meeting. The recipient is expected to be present at this meeting to receive the award. 

This award recognizes an Eastern Branch member who has made outstanding contributions in Integrated Pest Management.  The winner of this award will be recognized at the Eastern Branch Annual Meeting and will be submitted to the ESA Award for Excellence in Integrated Pest Management as the Branch nominee for that same year. The Eastern Branch committee chair will notify all candidates and their nominators with the results of their nomination approximately two months after the nomination submission deadline.
