Southwestern Branch Insect Expo

Insect Expo is an activity-oriented learning experience for 3rd-5th graders presented by the Southwestern Branch of the Entomological Society of America that reaches approximately 800 students annually!

Students are given opportunities to interact with professional entomologists and entomology students as they participate in a wide variety of lessons and activities designed to educate people about the most widespread and diverse group of organisms on earth: Insects.

Through interactive experiments and activities, students learn what adaptations have allowed insects to be so successful, how the vast majority of insects are beneficial, how each insect has its niche in the ecosystem.   They also learn about insect life cycles and use models to understand the insect's physical limits.
