The Entomological Society of America Plant-Insect Ecosystem (P-IE) Section encourages its members to submit proposals to fund innovative projects that benefit our section and its members. The Section has prioritized funding requests that increase capacity related to:
- P-IE-related programs and issue management
- Fostering interest in entomology
- Continuing education (of members and the general public)
- Contributing to science/public policy.
Proposals are required to describe how funding will address these Section priorities. Preference will be given to activities and events that are outside of the Annual Meeting, and those that demonstrate innovation and novel approaches to addressing current issues. Activities associated with the Annual Meeting will be considered, but we request documentation of innovative approaches and demonstrated impacts on P-IE members.
Proposed activities should support professional development of Section members, with an emphasis on students and early-career professionals. Section funding is not intended to support scientific research projects.
