Students who present posters in the Student Poster Display Competition will be evaluated in the following areas:
Scientific Content (50%)
- Introduction, justification, & background with pertinent literature cited; Relevant information discussed (10 points)
- Objectives or hypotheses clearly stated and concise / Objectives for teaching/extension programming clearly stated, concise, and addresses clientele or educational needs (10 points)
- Materials & methods (study design) clear and concise / Course or program design clearly stated; Statistical analyses and evaluation metrics are clear and appropriate (10 points)
- Interpretation of results and analyses are clear, concise, accurate, and addresses needs of target audience (10 points)
- Significance of results to field of study or teaching community or target audience clearly stated (10 points)
Poster Display (50%)
- Logical order, minimum redundancy, effective space use, good transition between sections (10 points)
- Legible with appropriate-size fonts, color contrast, no conflicting backgrounds (10 points)
- Text without grammatical errors; not excessively wordy (10 points)
- Effective use of figures, images, and/or tables, coordinated with text (10 points)
- Overall quality/appearance, creative visual display, poster flow (10 points)
